Jewelry Materials Guide

Every LYNKS piece is made to be worn unapologetically - but like anything made to last, it responds best to a little intention. Here's what your jewelry is made of, and how to keep it looking its best.

Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is one of the most durable metals used in jewelry - resistant to rust, tarnish, and acceptable for daily wear. It's a reliable choice for pieces you want to wear often without much thought.

PVD Coated Stainless Steel
Some of our stainless steel pieces are finished with PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating - a durable layer that's virtually tarnish-free under normal wear, locking in colour and shine for the long run. These are the closest thing we offer to fuss-free, everyday jewelry.

Copper
Copper is a wonderfully malleable metal, especially for more intricate and sculptural designs. It's also the base metal behind most of our gold plated pieces. Like all natural metals, copper can react to air and moisture over time - this is expected, not a flaw.

Gold Plated Copper
A lot of LYNKS pieces are gold plated copper - a thin layer of gold over a copper base, giving you the richness of gold with accessibility. With mindful care, gold plating is long-lasting and tarnish-resistant. It isn't tarnish-free, though - some fading is natural over time, especially with frequent wear, moisture, sweat and humidity.

S925 Sterling Silver
Sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver, giving it a bright, premium finish. It may oxidize slightly with exposure to air and moisture, but this is easily cleaned and restored with gentle care.

A Note on Tarnish

Tarnish-resistant means your jewelry is built to hold up well over time with normal wear. Tarnish-free means it holds up without tarnishing under normal, everyday wear - that's specific to our PVD coated stainless steel pieces. Everything else in the LYNKS line falls into the resistant category, which simply means a little mindfulness and intentional care goes a long way.

Caring for Your Linked Rings

Our multi-band linked rings are some of our most detailed statement pieces - and because the bands move and rub against each other, light surface wear and a softer finish over time is completely normal. We'd gently suggest treating these as special-occasion pieces rather than daily wear. Worn intentionally, they'll stay looking their best for a long time.

Storage Tips (Especially in Humid Weather)

Humidity can speed up oxidation, so a little extra care in storage makes a real difference:

  • Clean your jewelry piece with a soft cloth after use and before storage.
  • Store pieces in airtight boxes or zip pouches.
  • Add silica gel packets to absorb moisture.
  • Keep pieces separate to prevent scratching and tangling.
  • Avoid storing jewelry in bathrooms or other damp spaces.

With a bit of mindful care, your LYNKS pieces are made to stay part of your everyday moments for a long time to come.
